Google is also announcing a second phone - Nexus 5X a 5.2-inch marshmallow device built by LG

The Nexus 5X vs. the competition: Smaller is still powerful

After last year's unwieldy attempt, Google had to think a little more carefully about how its nerd-friendly Nexus line should work and feel. Rather than just offer one new phone today, Google showed off two -- the Nexus 5X and 6P -- meant for different subsets of people

If last year's Nexus 6 was too big for your hands, this year Google and LG have scaled things back a bit with the Nexus 5X. It sports a more manageable 5.2-inch screen size, while also dropping some new features into the mix like USB Type-C and Nexus Imprint. But are these added bells and whistles e...

Google's Pixel C tablet is Android's official answer to the Surface Pro 4

Google finally has a Surface competitor in the Pixel C

Say hello to the first-ever Android tablet built by Google. It's the Pixel C, and just like how the Chromebook Pixel was the creme de la creme of Chromebooks, the Pixel C looks to be Google's attempt at making the best-ever 2-in-1 Android tablet it could possibly make. And yes, it appears to be Go...

Indeed, the Pixel C essentially looks like the little brother to the Chromebook Pixel. Its aluminum shell has that same look and feel and it has a USB Type-C port (which is new to this year's line of Chromebook Pixels) and a gorgeous display. Specifically, it has a 10.2-inch display with a 2,560 x 1,800 resolution (308 ppi), 500 nits of brightness and a reportedly wide coverage of the sRGB color gamut.

It's obviously top-notch hardware with a beautiful design and I can't wait to see how it performs in the real world. If you want to try it for yourself, you'll have to wait until the holidays to get it. The 32GB version will cost you $499 while the 64GB is $599. And if you want that keyboard, it'll cost you $149 extra

Google officially announced the Nexus 6P a 5.7-inch made by Huawei

The Nexus 6P vs. the competition: More than just big screens

After last year's unwieldy attempt, Google had to think a little more carefully about how its nerd-friendly Nexus line should work and feel. Rather than just offer one new phone today, Google showed off two -- the Nexus 5X and 6P -- meant for different subsets of people.

Nexus flagship phones would be a Huawei-built device called the 6P, and now Google has just made that official at its event in San Francisco this morning. Naturally, the new phone is running the latest version of Android: 6.0 Marshmallow. Surprisingly, the device is a little bit smaller than the Nexus 6 it's replacing -- the Nexus 6P has a 5.7-inch screen running at 1440p resolution. That works out to 518 pixels per inch, an absurdly high ratio that's becoming commonplace on plenty of flagship devices.

Google might not have a new 6-inch handset this year, but fans of larger phones will still be pleased with the 5.7-inch Nexus 6P. It's got a 12.3-megapixel camera, laser-assisted autofocus and, as always, a stock version of the latest Android. But with manufacturers increasingly putting lighter, les...

"Sorry, something went wrong."

That was the message that greeted many Facebook users trying to log in Today's evening "Still occur". It was unclear at publishing time how many accounts and users were affected. The social media leader rarely experiences a site crash and prides itself on its reliability. With some one billion active users (that's according to Facebook), it is one of the biggest sites on the web, and pulls in billions of dollars in advertising revenue.

For the second time in a week, Facebook had outage issues. The giant social network - the billion and some users website began having issues around 8 p.m. EET – Eastern European Time, causing a flurry of angry posts on the other social media networks that were working.

Facebook went down on September 24th for a brief time, much to the frustration of their one billion active users - billion and some active users. That's a lot of advertising revenue to lose for the second time in a week. For now we don't know yet what caused such outage and for a second time in a week. We'll update you when the blue social network went back online.

Well if Apple's latest Gold color addition to the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus was meant something to the customers! which can be this year's hero color for the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus is Rose Gold. But imagine the millions of people who are going to have one. Now what do you think about not a Rose Gold, but a Black Gold? Yes, you read that right, add rhodium to gold and you get black gold.

And it's Vietnamese company Karalux that comes up with this pretty freaking idea, offering a Black Gold plating service for the iPhone 6s in addition to its more orthodox 24K gold-plating jobs. The color is achieved by mixing gold with rhodium in a specific ratio and rhodium itself is 6 times more expensive than gold, the company's technical director says. So don't get to excited, you have to hurt badly your pocket in order to get this one.

The time consuming process of covering an iPhone with Black Gold takes 8 hours and as you would have guessed, it's not exactly cheap. A 64GB iPhone 6s dipped in the rhodium/gold pot will set you back $2,300 (VND 52 million), though you could save a couple of million and get the 16GB version, who are we to judge where your priorities lie.

Let us know what you think? does it worth the shot or is it just another useless features?

The leaks continue to flow out of Mountain View-Google, with some some pretty detailed leaks regarding the two new Nexus devices. The latest information on Huawei's Nexus 6P, the larger and presumably the more expensive of the two Nexus devices Google is expected to announce within a week, comes from a public image gallery posted to Imgur, that showcased both the front and back design in some fancy press images.

Today, a leaked presentation has surfaced, which goes further and confirms the design and specs of the bigger 6P, along with the four colors it will be sold in. The presentation was designed for internal training purposes.

First the specs. The slides confirm the Nexus 6P will have a 5.7-inch 2560x1440 resolution display (no confirmation on display tech), metal body, Snapdragon 810 v2.1, 3450mAh battery, 178g weight, front stereo speakers, and USB Type-C connector. The slide also claims faster charging and transfer rates, so Qualcomm Quick Charge might be on board.

The other slides talk about the improved camera, fingerprint sensor on the back, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, which brings with it many features, including Doze that saves battery when the phone is not in use, and app permissions.

The Nexus 6P will be available in 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB capacities in aluminum, graphite, frost, and gold color options, with the gold color being exclusive to Japan initially.

Other than that, we get a good look at the design, including the camera bump at the back, which seen from the side isn't quite severe and only slightly raised. The smaller Nexus 5X also makes an appearance in one of the slides.

There's still a few things we haven't been able to confirm: the price, still unmentioned, and the display panel type, though IPS-LCD seems most likely. Google will announce the Huawei Nexus 6P, along with the LG Nexus 5X (and probably a few other things), in San Francisco on September 29th.

SanDisk's new 512GB Extreme Pro SDXC milestone is the company's 64GB microSD card in the same product line -- the fastest microSD card currently available, boasts SanDisk, with a higher capacity for growing storage needs. With the 64GB Extreme Pro microSDXC UHS-I card comes, among other things, the ability to handle 4k video.

The new microSDXC card offers transfer speeds up to 95MB/s, and boasts UHS Speed Class 3 rating, among other things, all of which makes this a good choice for demanding users and those dabbling with 4k video capture.

SanDisk has pointed out that 4k video is no longer reserved for a select few, and so needs for cards that can handle the video has increased. The new microSDXC is a Class 10 offering, and is currently being shown off at Photokina.

The newest card is available now across the globe for $299.99 USD, and is joined by lower-capacity 16GB and 32GB cards in the same product family (starting at $79.99 USD). Be sure to hit up our SanDisk tag portal for additional news from the company.

After months of leaks, rumors and speculation, Apple has today made the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus official at its special event in Cupertino, California. Announced on stage by Apple's Tim Cook, the iPhone 6 is the latest iteration in the iPhone series and for only the second time in its history it's getting bigger - twice!

"Today we are launching the biggest advancement in the history of the iPhone"

As rumored much before the event there are two sizes, 4.7-inch and 5.5-inches. The smaller phone has a 1334x750 resolution display while the iPhone 6 Plus has a full HD, 1920x1080 display for a ppi of 326 and 401 respectively. The iPhone 6 is 6.9mm thick while the iPhone 6 Plus goes up just slightly to 7.1mm.

Round the back the camera protrudes slightly from the body, while round front on the iPhone 6 Plus it looks like the icons are a little more spaced out. It'll come in silver, gold and black.

We've been hearing rumblings about an iPhone 6 event next month for some time now, but Apple has made it official: the company's next affair will indeed be held on September 9th. While there aren't the usual clues as to what we can expect -- the invite merely states "Wish we could say more" -- the change in seasons this time of year usually signals the arrival of a new iPhone. And of course, there's been some talk of a wearable, too.

As always, you can bet we'll be there to bring all the news as it happens starting at 10AM PT/1PM ET in Cupertino.
